5.3 billion USD net profits for Norilsk Nickel
Russian mining and metallurgy giant Norilsk Nickel in 2007 had net profits of 5,3 billion USD, which is 11,6 percent down year-on-year from 2006.
The 2007 profits amounted to 5.276 billion USD, which is 11,6 percent less than the 5.965 billion USD of 2006, the company informs in a press release.
Norilsk Nickel is the world’s biggest producer of nickel. The company is also a major producer of cupper and several other metals. Core activities are in the Taymyr Peninsula in the Russian far north, as well as in the Kola Peninsula.
