Apatit profit 1.135 billion rubles

The mining company Apatit on the Kola Peninsula posted a net profit 1.135 billion rubles in 1Q - 2009, reports Interfax.

Apatit is Russia’s biggest producer of apatite concentrate. The mines are near Kirovsk in the Khibiny Mountains on the Kola Peninsula, while the concentrating plants are located outside the nearby city of Apatity, some 150 kilometres south of Murmansk. The net profit is down 36 percent compared with 1Q - 2008 when the net profit was 1.777 billion rubles.
