Belikov new head of Fisheries Commission
Dr. Sergei Belikov, Deputy Head of the Department of International Cooperation of the Russian Federal Agency for Fisheries, is elected new President for the North-East Atlantic Fisheries Commission.
Fishnewseu.com reports that Dr. Belikov was elected for the period 2010-2012 at the 28th Annual meeting of the Commission. Belikov takes over the post after Stefàn Àsmundsson from Iceland.
Dr. Sergei Belikov was formerly working as a researcher at PINDRO Marine research institute in Murmansk and is well acquainted with international negotiations on the management of living resources of the oceans and negotiations in bilateral and multilateral contexts.
Dr. Belikov took over the position on January 1st.
