Cross-border employment cooperation
Employment authorities in the border towns of Kirkenes and Nikel have signed a cooperation agreement which is to facilitate exchange of labor.
The agreement signed last week by the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration (NAV) in municipality of Sør-Varanger and the Pechenga Employment Service is historical. Never before has a MOU between the parts been concluded, a press release from NAV reads. The agreement includes exchange of information about local labor markets developments, regulations on labor exchange, as well as support from both parts to citizens interested in working on the other side of the border. The agreement is to be renewed annually
