Leaders of state corporations get diplomatic status

The heads of Russian state corporations will from now on be equipped with diplomatic passports, which will facilitate more cooperation with foreign partners, Russian legislators say.

The Russian State Duma in a first reading 4 July approved the bill. The legislators say that the state corporations need efficient innovative activities and therefore should exchange experiences and create joint projects with other countries, Newsru.com reports with reference to Itar-Tass. The Duma deputies add that “the state corporations in their nature are non-commercial organisations, which follow up state assignments”. Currently, Russia has seven state corporations, all of them major entities with a number of units.
