Murmansk port does not meet demands
The Murmansk Trade Port does not meet neither efficiency demands, nor environmental demands, Deputy Prime Minister Sergey Ivanov said in a recent meeting on the development of the strategic Russian port.
At the moment, the Murmansk Sea Trade Port is not satisfactory not with regard to efficiency criteria, nor to environmental criteria, Mr Ivanov underlined. In the meeting, Mr. Ivanov highlighted the need for investments in Murmansk, saying that a review of the federal programme on development of national transport systems should be considered in order to secure more money to the port. In Russia there are only two places where such port hubs can be developed – Murmansk and the Far East, he said.
