Norwegian coach company enters Murmansk
The Northern Norwegian coach company Bussring want to enter the Russian marked and has established an affiliated office in Murmansk.
Bussring is operating all over Northern Norway with busses in Narvik, Harstad, Tromsø, Nordreisa and Hammerfest. In Hammerfest, Bussring had the contract with Statoil to transport the commuters and workers to the newly constructed Melkøya LNG-plant.
Last month, the company registered its Russian affiliate, named OOO Bussring, reports Barentsnova.
- We are now headhunting for drivers and technical specialists and after we get all necessary licensing documents, we will become a fully fledged transport company on the local Murmansk market, says Anna Filina, head of OOO Bussring in Murmansk to Barentsnova.
To BarentsObserver Filina says: - What we want now is to secure our position in the Murmansk region and to have a stable development offering high-quality transport services both in the region to local companies as well as foreign branches and for international routes.
Bussring has 40 years experience in operating tours both in Northern Norway and abroad. The company’s first tour to Russia was in 1986, according to the website of the company.
Last week, BarentsObserver reported that another Norwegian bus company will start a twice weekly coach service from the town Hammerfest in Finnmark to Murmansk. Finnmark Turbuss starts the route in early March and it will be on Monday’s and Thursdays
From before, several Russian mini-buss operators have daily coach services between the Murmansk and the Norwegian border town of Kirkenes.
