Russia invites Norway to industrial cooperation
Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov today said that there is an “enormous potential” for Russian-Norwegian cooperation within energy, technology and innovation.
Taking part in the ongoing 11th session of the Russian-Norwegian intergovernmental commission on economical, industrial and science cooperation, Mr. Zubkov said that trade turnover between the two countries this year could exceed 2 billion USD, Finam.ru reports. The government minister, who is also the board chairman of Gazprom, especially highlighted cooperation within energy and technology. -The potential for cooperation in this sector is huge, he said. He also called on Norwegian companies to actively participate in the development of innovation centres and technology parks in Russia. Also shipbuilding and the oil and gas industry was highlighted by Mr. Zubkov. In addition, the powerful Russian official said Norwegian companies are welcome to invest in the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.
