Russia will cut the number of federal officials
The Russian Ministry of Finances offers to cut the number of federal officials on the central and regional levels by 20 percent till the year 2013.
According to the draft governmental resolution published today at www.minfin.ru the number of federal officials is to be reduced by 5 percent to the level of July 2010, then by 10 percent till April 2012 and by finally 20 percent till April 2013.
Statistics from the Federal Statistical Committee for the last five years shows that the number of federal executives grew up almost twice: from nearly 592.577 in 2005 to over 1,1 million in spring 2010.
The proposal follows the instruction made in June by the President Medvedev. The Minister of finances Alexei Kudrin in his speech on the St. Petersburg Economic Forum said that this measure could save 40 billion rubles in the federal budget.
