Russian trawler sunk, one man dead

One man died and 16 were rescued when the Russian trawler Koralnes wrecked outside Tromsø, northern Norway.

Norwegian police confirms to NRK that one died in the accident. The rest of the crew of 17 was rescued in a major rescue operation by Norwegian emergency authorities. The rescue operation started after regional emergency authorities got the alarm at 6 am this morning. Another Russian trawler in the area managed to take onboard 15 of the sailors. Two men ended up at sea and were picked up by a Sea King helicopter. The reason for the accident, which took place about 70 sea miles off Tromsø, remains not clear
