Salaries in Komi over Russian average

The salaries are 20 percent higher in the Republic of Komi than average in Russia.

The Komi Republic is the easternmost member of the Barents Region. The April 2010 figures presented by Komistat show an average monthly income for employees equal to 24.500 rubles (€645).

The highest wages are among employees in the petroleum sector, including both pipeline industry and production of crude oil and natural gas. Here, the average wages were 52.600 rubles (€1.384).

Employees in the sectors like culture, education and health had between 11 and 16.000 rubles per month, and are lower than average Russian salaries in those sectors, reports Usinsk.ru.
