Swedish link to Norwegian North

Swedish companies wanted a direct link between Stockholm and northern Norway. Today, the first aircraft left Tromsø with direction Stockholm.

The new air link is the first ever between the two cities. Leader of the Visit Tromsø company, Svein Erik Setermo, says to NRK that it is the Swedes who have been pushing for the new link. -Swedish tourists want the experiences we can offer up here, like coastal fishing, sailing and whale safari, Mr. Setermo says. –Northern Norway is very exotic for people in Stockholm and southern Sweden, he adds. The air route will first be operated until 22 August. It might after that be turned into a year-round route. From before, Tromsø has direct international air connection with Murmansk, London and Frankfurt.
