Worlds biggest metals company might see the light
Norilsk Nickel owner Vladimir Potanin and Metalloinvest owner Alisher Usmanov aim to invest up to 60 billion USD to set up the worlds biggest mining and metallurgical company.
According to newspaper Kommersant, Usmanov and Potanin say they are open to inviting the owner of Rusal, Oleg Deripaska, into their negotiations. Rusal bought a 25 percent-plus-one-share stake in Norilsk last month.
This is the first time that three-way cooperation between Potanin’s Norilsk, Usmanov’s Metalloinvest and Deripaska’s Rusal has been publicly suggested by the major players.
