Economic crisis hampers Swedish wind power development

The economic downturn has made it less profitable to invest in wind power development, the Swedish Wind Power Association confirms. A 132 windmill farm planned built in the Botnia Bay has already been postponed.

Matthias Rapp from Swedish Wind Power says to Swedish Radio that the decrease in new wind power projects might be as big as 35 percent. The trend now puts the ambitious government strategy on alternative energy in jeopardy.

As reported by Nsd.se, the plans for a 132 windmills offshore wind farm in the Botnia Bay have already been postponed.
