ENI wants a foot on Russian shelf
Italian oil company ENI is interested in working on the Russian northern shelf, company CEO Paolo Scaroni said when visiting the Russian Arctic town of Salekhard this week.
The company leader in meetings with regional Governor Yuri Neyolov confirmed the company’s interest in the shelf operations, Oilru.com reports with reference to Rbc.ru. During the visit, the two men also signed a memorandum of understanding. ENI also expresses interest in taking part of the development of the resource-rich Yamal Peninsula. -ENI has major experiences from shelf projects in Italy, on the African continent, in Alaska, Mr. Scaroni said, adding that the company now would like to use this experience on the Russian shelf.
