EU expressed interest in Shtokman
During a recent visit to Arkhangelsk, representatives of the EU Commission visited several industrial companies and expressed interest in the Shtokman field.
According to newspaper Pravda Severa, the EU Commission’s representative in Moscow Marc Franco visited Arkhangelsk together with representatives of the Association of European Businesses. On the agenda was political meetings and social focus, as well as the industrial capacities of the region. The EU delegation met with the Arkhangelsk regional centre for foreign trade and with the Sozvezdye supplier centre. According to Chief Executive Officer of the Association of European Businesses Mr. Frank Schauff, of special interest for cooperation is Russian oil and gas projects on the Arctic shelf, and particularly the Shtokman project. He also believes contacts should be strengthened in the energy sector, machine building and the farmacy industry.
