Gazprom no longer with top ranking
Few months ago, Russian energy major Gazprom was the third most expensive company in the world. Now, the company has dropped to place 37 on the ranking.
In spring this year, the company was valued to 360 billion USD by the stock market, which gave the company the third position among the world’s most expensive. Now, the financial crisis and stock market turmoil has reduced the value of the company significantly. According to Oilru.com, Gazprom in October was valued to below 100 billion USD. On November 1, the value had increased to 121 billion USD, placing the company on place 37 on the world ranking. Last year, when being Gazprom board chairman, Dmitrii Medvedev told the press that Gazprom should one day become the highest valued of all the world’s companies.
