Gazprom production down 24 percent

In March, Gazprom produced 24 percent less gas than in the same period last year. The main reason is lower demands following the economic crisis.

In the first quarter of the year, the company had an 18 percent year-on-year reduction in production, Vedomosti reports. Meanwhile, gas consumtion in Russia in March declined 6,6 percent. The main reason for the lower production is the declining demands both in Russia and the EU, the newspaper writes.
