Gazprom to double shelf reserves by 2020
Russian energy major Gazprom intends to more than double its gas reserves on the shelf by year 2020.
In a press conference on Wednesday, Deputy Head of Gazprom’s Management Committee, Valery Golubyov, said that company shelf reserves will grow from today’s 4,7 trillion cubic meters to ten trillion cubic meters by 2020. The 4,7 trillion cubic meters of gas is 14 percent of the company’s total registered reserves. The Shtokman field with its 3,8 trillion cubic meters accounts for the lion’s share of those reserves. As BarentsObserver reports, Mr. Golubyov in that same press conference also stressed that the Shtokman field will be in production as planned from 2013.
