Little drilling in Barents Sea

Only two wells are planned drilled in the Norwegian part of the Barents Sea in 2010.

While there are plans for 28 wells in the North Sea and 11 wells in the Norwegian Sea, the industry only plans to drill two wells in the Barents Sea this year, Offshore.no reports. The two wells — Skrugard and Heilo — will be drilled by respectively Statoil and GDF Suez, Sissel Eriksen from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate told the website. The drilling activities are likely to pick pace in 2011. The company North Energy has already announced that it plans three wells in the course of that year.
