New leader of Shtokman Development appointed

Aleksey Zagorovsky has been appointed to the post as leader of the Shtokman Development AG, a high-ranking Gazprom official confirms.

Gazprom deputy Aleksandr Medvedev in a press conference at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum confirmed that Mr. Zagorovsky has been appointed to the post, RIA Novosti reports. As previously reported, Zagorovsky has for several weeks been expected to take over the reigns in the company, a joint venture of Gazprom, Total and Statoil.

Former leader of the SDAG, Yury Komarov, earlier this year announced that he would resign from the leading post.

Aleksandr Miller in the press conference said that a contract will be signed with the new SDAG leader in the near future and that he already is working as acting CEO of the company. –He has the full confidence of the shareholders, Medvedev stressed.

Aleksey Zagorovsky comes from the post as deputy leader of the Gazprom Dobycha Shelf, the newly established Gazprom subsidiary specialized on shelf projects. He has earlier also worked for the SIBUR oil company and several major Russian banks.
