“Nord Stream - a waste of money”
The Nord Stream project is a “waste of money”, Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister Radosław Sikorski maintains.
Talking to the the Polish National Assembly’s foreign affairs committee last week, Mr. Sikorski underlined that the underwater gas pipeline project is “a waste of money”, Euractiv.com reports. The Polish authorities have pointed out several times that the Russo-German consortium led by Russian giant Gazprom has not been able to explain why a sea route is better than the cheaper land option, the website writes. Sikorski has long been a vocal opponent of the pipeline. The 1220 km long Nord Stream pipeline is planned to be partly fuelled by gas from the Shtokman gas in the Barents Sea.
