Nord Stream construction starts in April 2010
Up to 70 percent of all pipes for the first of two Nord Stream pipelines has been manufactured and the laying of pipes will start in April 2010, a company representative said this week.
Presenting the project in Moscow this week, the company representative also said that the winner of the tender on pipes manufacturing for the second line will be announced by the end of 2009, Oilru.com reports with reference to Portnews.ru The first line, with a transmission capacity of around 27,5 billion cubic meters per year is due for completion in 2011. The second line is due to be completed in 2012, doubling annual capacity to around 55 billion cubic metres. This is enough to supply more than 25 million households in Europe.
