Russia ready to change Arctic shelf restrictions
Russian authorities will make it easier for foreign companies to operate on the Russian Arctic shelf, Minister of Natural Resources Yuri Trutnev indicates.
Trutnev, who was accompanying President Dmitry Medvedev to Murmansk on Wednesday, told reporters that the list of companies allowed to operate on the country’s shelf will be expanded, Reuters informs.
“We need investment and technology. We need to attract business there,” Minister Trutnev told the press.
He also said that the law regulating foreign investments needs to be amended.
