Russian power production down

Electricity production in Russia is expected to drop in both 2009 and 2010, experts say.

The Russian Federal Tariff Service intends to adjust its prognosis for electricity production in 2009, Oilru.com reports with reference to RBC. The new prognosis is likely to include a drop in production. That drop will continue in 2010, experts say. 2010 production is likely to total 990 billion KWh. That is down from 1,037 trillion KWh in 2008, the website informs. Russian electricity demands for 2009 amount to about 1,22 trillion KWh, a social-economic prognosis shows.
