Shelf development will give techno boost for Russia
The development of offshore oil and gas resources will give a technological boost for Russian industry, Minister of Natural Resources Yuri Trutnev underlines.
-Like with a Christmas tree, you can hang up a lot of orders for our industry on the shelf, Trutnev told journalists this week, RIA Novosti reports.
He rebuffs criticism from skeptics, who claim that it will be better for Russia to develop its onshore resources before looking offshore.
-The shelf can give guarantees for new orders, something which will lift the industry to a new level of modern technology, the minister stresses, Oilru.com reports.
