Shtokman construction from March 2011
The Shtokman project can enter a phase of actual engineering and construction works in March 2011, a representative of the Shtokman Development AG confirms.
Talking to an audience of teachers and students at the Arkhangelsk Arctic University, the SDAG representative confirmed that his company plans to start actual engineering and construction works in March next year.
-At the present time, we believe it will be possible to start the Shtokman implementation phase in March 2011, Frank Otefolt said, Regnum reports. –That includes actual construction works, he specified.
The official also maintained that Russian suppliers will be able to deliver parts of the production units to be placed on the seabed, as well as parts of the modules for the LNG terminal.
The Shtokman Development AG and its owners Gazprom, Total and Statoil in early 2011 intends to announce a final investment decision. Production startup in the project is planned for 2016.
