Shtokman production to reach 71 billion by 2020
Head of the Shtokman Devlopment AG, Yury Komarov, last week reiterated that the Shtokman field development is on schedule and that production will reach 71 billion cubic meters by year 2020.
Talking to journalists last week, Mr. Komarov said the first development phase will have an annual production of 23,7 billion cubic meters. That amount will be tripled by 2020, when the third development phase will bring production to 71,1 billion cubic meters, Murmanchanin.ru reports with reference to Rbc.ru. While the Shtokman Development Company will have operator responsibility for the first phase, Gazprom intends to take over the full operatorship in the second and third phases. Investments in the first phase are still estimated to 15 billion USD in 2006-prices. A total of 10000 people will be engaged in the Shtokman construction period, while 600 will be employed in the production period, of them 200 offshore. The Shtokman Development AG will in the near future hire another 100 people, thus increasing its staff to 400, the websites report.
