Tax break for Yamal LNG could come

Russia’s Finance Minister has published a bill that could give tax break for companies that extract gas for LNG-shipment from the Yamal Peninsula.

If the suggestion becomes law, it will give a push to companies like Novatek that plans to build a large-scale LNG plant on the Yamal Peninsula, reports The Moscow Times.

The LNG investment plans are estimated to be someplace between $20 and $30 billion.

The tax exemption bill stipulates for zero tax of the gas extraction for the first 12 years.
