Eco-insurance for Russian shelf projects
Russia considers to introduce a special insurance system for shelf development projects.
-It is absolutely clear that the accident in the Gulf of Mexico necessitates a number of measures, Minister of Natural Resources Yuri Trutnev says. –Also we consider such measures, he adds, RIA Novosti reports. He confirms that his ministry currently is studying the possible introduction of a special insurance system for shelf operations including ecological risks. Alternatives are bank guarantees or the creation of special liquidation funds.
