Lepse gets 43 million EUR from EBRD
The European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has allocated 43 million EUR to the decommissioning of the Lepse nuclear service ship, which is moored outside Murmansk packed with badly stored spent nuclear fuel.
An agreement on the issue is part of an agreement signed by Rosatom and EBRD this week. The funding for Lepse is part of a bigger 70 million EUR support package to Russia. The Lepse has for years been a headache for both the Murmansk Shipping Company and Atomflot, the companies, which have had the responsibility for the vessel.
