Nature and Youth demands excuse
The Murmansk-based environmental organization Nature and Youth demands an official excuse from the regional interior ministry representative who recently indicated that the green organization is “extremist”.
The environmentalists have now sent a request to the regional prosecutor’s office, where the organization demands that interior ministry representative Viktor Zobachev excuses his statement made in a briefing 20th August, a press release from the organisation reads.
Mr. Zobachev heads the interior ministry’s unit for counter-extremist operations. As BarentsObserver previously reported, he in the briefing said that the Nature and Youth often operates against the law and that rallies are conducted without official permissions.
