Norwegian – Russian nuclear talks
The joint Norwegian – Russian nuclear safety commission will meet later this week for its annual meeting.
The meeting takes place in Murmansk on Thursday September 2nd. State Secretary in the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Erik Lahnstein will head the Norwegian delegation. The representatives will also visit the nuclear waste storage facility in Andreeva Bay, located halfway between Murmansk and the border to Norway. Over the last 15 years, Norway has provided tens of millions Euro for nuclear safety project in the Andreeva Bay. The first shipments of spent nuclear fuel from the storage started earlier this year.
