Russia wants extra drilling checks
In the wake of BP’s large oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, Russia’s Natural Resource and Environmental Ministry has opened a series of checks into off-shore drilling projects.
The checks into Russian off-shore drilling projects have already started.
- But I think the question is bigger than just checks, we need to analyze international practice of reacting to such situations, Natural Resource and Environmental Minister Yury Trutnev said quoted by The Moscow Times.
- It seems like international agreement practice excists for pollution from vessels, but not from platforms, Trutnev said.
