12 people running for mayor

The following people have made it to the final round: businesswoman Larisa Bazanova, member of the Arkhangelsk regional parliament; Ernest Belokorovin; acting city mayor Viktor Pavlenko; Vice Director of the RegionAvtoTrans company Mikhail Kochanov; Head of the Arkhangelsk regional branch of the Russia’s employer’s union Aleksandr Grechanyi; bulldozer driver Sergey Moiseev, driver Sergey Moiseev, member of City Council Sergey Moiseev, pensioner Sergey Moiseev, Director General of Arkhangelsk Production Technical Complex Petr Orlov, member of the regional parliament Mikhail Silantiev and a community worker Aleksandr Tutov. All in all, 19 people were willing to compete, however two withdrew their candidacies and another five were denied the right to run for the post. None of the 12 candidates managed to gather the required amount of signatures, all preferred to pay 150 000 RUB instead. Election day is due May 25.
