Cadets and officers from The Norwegian Home Guard’s officers’ training school have started a four-month ski march across the northern parts of Norway.
The Norwegian Home Guard’s officers’ training school (Heimevernets befalsskole, HVBS) is being relocated from Værnes in the central region of Norway to Porsanger in Finnmark County. 21 cadets and six officers have chosen to make the 1500 kilometers long journey on skis, the Norwegian Defense reports on its websites.
On Tuesday, Norwegian Minister of Defense Anne-Grete Strøm-Erichsen gave the starting shot for the march, which is planned to take four months.
