2WW mines and grenades along the border

Seven sites with more than 250 grenades and mines from the 2WW have this summer been found along the Russian-Norwegian border. All of it is now destructed by the FSB.

The seven sites with hidden military hardware were all found in the forested zone between Russia and Norway, FSB official said to RIA Novosti. The bombs, grenades and mines, together more than 250 units, stem from the German Nazi forces occupying the area in the period 1941-1944. Among the equipment found were nine 153 mm grenades, 62 pieces of 105 mm and 75 mm grenades, 121 pieces of various mines, 47 pieces of 37 mm German-made anti-tank grenades and eight pieces of Czech-made anti-tank grenades. According to RIA Novosti, all the 2WW remnants were destroyed on the site in order to avoid risky transport.
