600 dismissed from Murmansk military hospital
Russian military authorities have decided to fire all the 600 workers of the Murmansk military hospital. The closure of the hospital comes as the Russian Armed Forces are undergoing major reforms.
The decision to close the hospital – one of the biggest of its kind in Northwest Russia – is irreversible, Murman.ru reports with reference to TV-21. Today, the hospital employs 600 people, among them highly qualified military doctors and nurses. The Murmansk military hospital has served major parts of the Leningrad military district. Over the last years, the military hospitals in Olenegorsk and Monchegorsk have been closed thus increasing the work load on the Murmansk hospital. The employees of the hospital still not intend to give up. They now intend to address President Medvedev about the issue.
