Aeroflot-Nord found safe

An international security audit has found regional aircraft carrier Aeroflot-Nord safe and in line with security standards.

The security audit was conducted in May this year, while the IOSA certificate was handed over to the company on 2 October. The company, one of the biggest in Northwest Russia, is now declared in line with the standards of the IATA Operational Safety Audit, a company press release informs.

The aircraft carrier has over the last years been troubled with several serious incidents, among which is last year’s tragic crash in Perm.

As BarentsObserver has reported, Russian authorities this summer demanded that the company strengthens security if the necessary licenses are to be upheld. A company aircraft was subsequently this summer held back in the Norwegian town of Tromsø after local air transport authorities cast doubt over security standards.
