Afghans on Finnish-Russian border
Three Afghans were on Saturday caught by Finnish border guards when trying to illegally cross the Finnish-Russian border. That is the second group of Afghans caught on the border the last months.
They were intercepted near the Vainikkala border crossing post, Yle News reports. Officials say the detention of the men proceeded without incident. Their arrest came after information was passed from Russian border officials. They were also detected on the Finnish side of the border by means of electronic surveillance after which they were detained by a dog patrol, the Finnish broadcaster informs.
