Agreement on education of oil personnel

Norwegian oil and gas major StatoilHydro and technical college № 6 in Murmansk have concluded an agreement on education of personnel for the oil and gas sector.

The agreement was signed on Tuesday by Head of StatoilHydro Russia, Bent Li Hansen, and director of Murmansk Technical College № 6, Grigory Shatilo. According to the agreement, StatoilHydro will give grants to the ten best students and financial support to modernize college equipment. The signing ceremony was attended by the Murmansk Oblast Governor Yury Yevdokimov and Norwegian Deputy Foreign Minister Elizabeth Walaas. The start of full-scale exploitation of oil and gas resources in the Russian Arctic will rise demand for qualified specialists and workers. StatoilHydro has since 2005 cooperated with both Murmansk and Arkhangelsk State Universities.
