Anti-Yevdokimov campaign might backfire on United Russia
The federal TV channels’ ongoing negative campaign against Governor Yury Yevdokimov might eventually harm the United Russia Party’s chances in the upcoming elections, Yevdokimov’s press secretary Nikolay Sigin says.
The press secretary believes the discrediting of Governor Yevdokimov is backfiring on the United Russia Party and its regional branch.
–It must be mentioned that Yevdokimov has been the most powerful “locomotive”, which with his authority in previous elections has brought the United Russia to all levels of power, Mr. Signin says, B-port.com reports.
-The loud accusations, which already have been voiced and which, as far as we know, will be broadcasted in the near future, are unfounded, all facts are twisted, everything have been put upside-down, he adds.
Mr. Signin also highlights that the negative campaign against the governor could harm United Russia in Murmansk, because Yevdokimov is actually the leader of the party’s regional election campaign.
A wave of criticism came over Governor Yevdokimov after last week negatively assessed the United Russia’s election campaign in Murmansk. As BarentsObserver reported, the governor said to the press that the regional party agitators are “disgracing the party” and that their election campaign is full of “lies, falsification and slandering”. Yury Yevdokimov has been Governor in Murmansk since 1996.
