Atomflot director enters regional parliament
Vyacheslav Ruksha, General Director of the Russian nuclear ice breaker fleet operator Atomflot, won yesterday’s local election to the Murmansk Oblast Duma.
Local elections were held in many Russian towns yesterday. Four candidates from one of the constituencies in Severomorsk competed for a vacant post in the Murmansk Oblast regional Duma. Vyacheslav Ruksha, representing the party United Russia, won with over 39 percent of the votes, web site B-port.com reports.
Ruksha was appointed General Director of Atomflot in September 2008. He held post as First Deputy Minister of Transport in the period 2000-2004 and Head of the Federal Agency for Sea and River Transport in 2004-2008.
