Border town Head dies

Head of the local administration in the Russian border town of Nikel Aleksander Orlioglo died at the age of 61 yesterday.

Orlioglo had held post as head of the administration in Nikel, a mining town located only a few kilometers to the border of Norway, since October 2009.

Aleksander Orlioglo was active in cross-border cooperation with his Norwegian colleagues and was engaged in plans for increased contact across the border when the agreement on visa-free travel for border zone inhabitants comes into force.

According to Murman.ru Orlioglo died while at work.
