Cancels sauna talks
Informal European foreign ministers meeting supposed to take place in Finnish Lapland this weekend is cancelled due to disturbing international situation.
The European foreign ministers have to reshuffle their agenda because of the situation in Libya and Japan.
Therefore, sauna talks and skiing in Saarisalkä will not take place, informs the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Among the participants that no will stay home are Norway’s Jonas Gahr Støre, Sweden’s Carl Bildt, EU’s Catherine Ashton. Together with foreign ministers from other EU countries like Italy, UK, Turkey, France, Belgium, Estonia and Denmark they were supposed to informally discuss related to international politics in the relaxing atmosphere at the ski-resort in Saarisalkä.
The first informal foreign ministers meeting took place last winter and Finland’s Alexander Stubb was hoping to make the meeting annually.
