Cargo through Arkhangelsk Port down 30 percent
Arkhangelsk Port handled 30.6 percent less cargo in 2009 than the year before. This is somewhat more than predicted.
Arkhangelsk Port in 2009 handled some 3.27 million tons of cargo, web site Portnews.ru reports. Turnover of coals went down 64 percent and timber with nearly 6.6 percent. Turnover of oil products increased insignificantly.
The cargo turnover for Arkhangelsk Port was estimated to go down 36 percent in 2009.
