Christmas top meeting in Moscow

The Norwegian Santa Claus Julenissen recently met with his Russian colleague Ded Moroz in Moscow. The meeting coincided with the first day of real winter weather in the Russian capital.

The night before the meeting between the two notabilities, Moscow had the largest snowfall in six years, RIA Novosti reports. Both holiday celebrities claimed to have been the one to bring snow to the city.

This was Julenissen’s first official visit to Russia. On the program was a visit to the palace of Ded Moroz and his granddaughter Snegurochka, and to Ded Moroz’ post office. He also paid a visit to the Norwegian Embassy in Moscow, where he held a Christmas ball for children from a rehabilitation center.

Julenissen invited Ded Moroz to come to Norway in Jaunary for an international conference for Santa Clauses.
