Clinton’s visit to Finland cancelled
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s visit to Finland this week is cancelled because of the flight restrictions.
This visit was planned for April 21, but has been cancelled because of the flight restrictions over Northern Europe caused by the volcanic eruption in Iceland, the Finnish Government’sweb pages read.
Secretary of State Clinton had intended to come to Finland as the guest of Foreign Minister Alexander Stubb ahead of the NATO meeting in Tallinn.
- In the present situation, cancellation of the visit is fully understandable. The forces of nature were not on the side of this meeting. I believe, however, that a meeting will take place soon in some other connection, Foreign Minister Alexander Stubb states.
