Cold ”Cold Response”

With effective temperatures falling below minus 50, the weather in Northern Norway gives the 8500 NATO forces participating in the “Cold Response” a real challenge.

Even though the cold weather and appropriate clothing have been a focus point in the preparations for the exercise, several soldiers are already injured by frost, Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation reports.

Open sea, high air humidity, wind and 15-20 degrees below zero create a harsh environment for the international forces from army, navy and air force units from 14 countries.
