Construction worker unemployment

Up to 25 percent of all Finnish construction workers might be without work by the end of March, the Construction Trade Union confirms.

The union estimates that a quarter of its unemployment fund members will be jobless by the end of this month, Yle News reports with reference to newspaper Helsingin Sanomat. To date, concrete and prefabricated unit workers have been hardest hit. In these categories, 70 percent are already unemployed, the newspaper writes. The Finnish construction sector employs about 180,000 people.
